LC Take Out Inaugural Title

St Patrick’s College has proudly hosted the inaugural Ballarat Associated Schools (BAS) Culinary Competition, marking an exciting new chapter to the BAS co-curricular program. The competition, held on Friday, 23 August, saw the Paddy boys put forth an incredible effort, plating up two dishes that demonstrated both skill and creativity — chicken roulade with a goat’s cheese and walnut filling and heirloom tomato sauce, and a chocolate sphere with salted caramel mousse and macadamia sugar spheres.

The competition was tough, and in a thrilling conclusion, Loreto emerged as the winners by a mere half point, impressing judges with their zucchini and mozzarella risotto infused with saffron spice and garnished with sweet potato and prosciutto, as well as a lemon rhubarb souffle paired with lime macaroons.

All teams showcased outstanding culinary skills and teamwork, earning high praise from Federation University judges Murray Lewis, Brendan Carter and Chloe Flavel.

The competition was a testament to the talent and hard work of all participants and served as a reminder of the spirit of camaraderie and friendly rivalry that defines the BAS community.

We thank all students and staff who were involved in the event, which is hoped to become an annual fixture on the BAS calendar.
